Pathfinders pause to reflect on where they’re at in their understanding of Spiritual things. This information will then be used to further plan specific Pursuits that will help process these needs.

  2. Identify spiritual topics which they would like to explore further

The Reel Facts

In this Pursuit, Pathfinders will have the opportunity to learn the truth about Tobacco and the media, then make their own movie (or write their own screenplay) promoting the REAL facts.

Through participation in this Pursuit, the Pathfinder will:
1. Identify the way the tobacco companies use the media to ‘hook’ kids on cigarettes
2. Prepare their own version of the truth that tobacco companies DON’T advertise
3. Shoot a short film showing the ‘Reel’ facts.

The Club

Pathfinders design and create an advertising prospectus for their Pathfinder Club.

Through participation in this Pursuit, the Pathfinder will:

  1. Demonstrate creativity in the Pursuit
  2. Work to a production schedule
  3. Identify positive aspects of our Pathfinder Club
  4. Apply this knowledge to the Pursuit project

Pathfinders explore some dynamics of teamwork through two team challenges.

Through participation in this Pursuit, the Pathfinder will:
1. Experience the satisfaction and frustration of working together
2. Identify feelings experienced during the activity
3. Identify those things which lead to success in coordinated team effort

Ted Trail

Pathfinder Clubs connect with each other and send a Pathfinder ‘Bear’ (Teddy Bear) on a trail to each Club. Photos are taken of the Bear at a number of notable local geographical landmarks, and are placed in an Album which is sent with the Bear to the next destination.

Through participation in this Pursuit, the Pathfinder will:

  1. Actively participate in excusions with the Bear
  2. Treat the Bear with respect and care at all times
  3. Keep to deadlines with the passing on of the Bear

Tee-Totally Awesome!

Pathfinders promote a positive alcohol-free lifestyle by designing and printing T-shirts with a positive slogan and distributing complimentary nonalcoholic wine tasting in a public setting.

Through participation in this Pursuit, the Pathfinder will:

  1. Demonstrate pride in their alcohol-free lifestyle by participating in this service-oriented exercise
  2. Show friendliness to members of the public
  3. Discuss values relating to alcohol
  4. Make a decision as to how values will impact their personal life

Pathfinders work on developing their own personal testimony in the form of a cardboard book.

Through participation in this Pursuit, the Pathfinder will:
1. Organise the parts of a personal testimony
2. Describe life events that have influenced personal spirituality
3. Recall high times with God
4. Analyse aspects of personal spiritual history
5. Document a personal statement about God
