Pathfinders engage in a huge waterbomb fight, with the view to discussing pain and suffering and the fact that in any battle – it’s inevitable that you’re going to get caught in the crossfire.

Through participation in this Pursuit, the Pathfinder will:

  1. Actively participate in a waterbomb fight
  2. Demonstrate an understanding of the link between the game and the message behind it
  3. Write a fictitious letter to a person who is experiencing pain in life

Pathfinders create a cartoon strip which depicts an event or story from Church history.

Through participation in this Pursuit, the Pathfinder will:

  1. Illustrate historical information in a visual form
  2. Sequence information
  3. Use cartooning to present Church History in an unique way

Pathfinders engage in a scientific experiment to determine the comparative value of woollen, cotton and other types of clothing, by testing their insulation values.

  2. Make a decision based on experimental evidence.
  3. Share a spiritual lesson from this experiment.

Pathfinders embark on a solo night time walk to a predetermined point and sign a book as proof of their presence.

Delving Deep!

Participants attempt to find a number of hidden discs in sand, sawdust or flour with the view to discussing how anything worthwhile takes time, and how developing solid Bible study habits takes time and commitment.

Through participation in this Pursuit, the Pathfinder will:

  1. Participate in a treasure-hunt style game
  2. Explain how motivation to search changes according to the value of the lost item
  3. Recall Bible stories about ‘searching’.

Pathfinders present a Church service which reflects on Church history. Participants become characters from the past and reflect on their faith walk. Each character could be interviewed.

Through participation in this Pursuit, the Pathfinder will:

  1. Explore ways we identify God and His leading
  2. Research the lives of Pioneers of the Adventist Church
  3. Plan and present a Church Service
  4. Reflect on how our Church history can give us confidence for the future.
