Visualise It!

Group participants create one or a number of posters/artworks which capture the central theme of the sermon topic for a particular Sabbath.
Their work could be placed on the inside of church walls or as a display at the front of the church.

  2. Express spiritual themes visually
  3. Make a positive contribution to Church life

Pathfinders set up a ‘bush shelter’ using a natural site and a piece of plastic and rope.

Pathfinders race to complete a number of water challenges

Wagga Rocket

Pathfinders role play a situation where they must decide who will be left to repopulate the earth after nuclear destruction. Each person must try to convince the group that their character must be allowed on the rocket to safety.

Through participation in this Pursuit, the Pathfinder will:

  1. Participate in a role play activity
  2. Portray a fictitious character
  3. Work together as a group to make decisions
  4. Reflect on the value of an individual

Uncommon Ground

Pathfinders play a couple of games and learn about peer pressure, including 5 steps to resisting peer pressure. They finish by writing a poem for their Journal.

Through participation in this Pursuit, the Pathfinder will:

  • Contribute to the group process

  • Participate in games
  • Recall ways to deal with peer pressure

Tour Guides

Hypothetically, the Pathfinders are to act as a host to a visitor from overseas. They are to undertake research to best plan an itinerary for the ‘visitor’, including places of interest, accommodation sites, and any pertinent travel tips. All planning must be within a certain budget.

Through participation in this Pursuit, the Pathfinder will:

  1. Create a fictitious dossier on an imaginary person
  2. Use research skills to plan a tour in keeping with the interests of their ‘guest’
  3. Keep to a prescribed budget
